Why Should your child attend a Wild West Lacrosse Camp?

Wild West Lacrosse camps are the complete experience for any young player. Players have the opportunity to learn from coaches who have played and excelled at the highest levels. Our small coach to player ratio allows for more personal attention and instruction. Wild West aims to improve every aspect of a players game, this is why we have classroom type discussions each day to preach nutrition, health and general lacrosse talk.

Where do Wild West campers come from?

Wild West has attracted players from all over the Lower Mainland. Last years camp included players from Delta, Langley, Surrey, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Poco, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. We try to attract players from all over, it is our belief that one of the most important things a camp can provide is an environment where new players can interact and learn from each other.

What might be some focus points?

The first priority of our camp is to have our players prepared for their tryouts in September. The camp will focus on passing, shooting, and ball handling with both hands. Footwork, individual defense and team play will also be taught in an intense learning environment. Most drills are done in small groups to emphasize individual instruction. Players are expected to arrive in shape.

Does the Wild West experience end at the camp?

No, each player is given health and nutrition packets during the camp which they can use to reference at any time. Also, each player will receive a personalized report card which will list their testing scores, so that players can aim to improve on certain skills throughout the year.

How Early should my child arrive at the camp?

Players are expected to be dressed and ready to go ten minutes prior to each session.
